2018 Kairangi PairsIntroductionThe Intermediate and Junior Pairs Tournaments were successfully completed on Sunday 25 March 2018, each being run over two Sessions with 27 Boards per Session.
This was the first occasion on which the Club rooms have been used for Tournament play since the strengthening and upgrade of the building. A Total of 18 Pairs competed in the Intermediate Tournament and 10 Pairs in the Junior event. Of the 56 players, 23 Members of the Kairangi Bridge Club supported the Club by competing, which is an excellent outcome. Results - IntermediateThe overall Intermediate Tournament winners were Graeme and Margaret Dick from the Upper Hutt club. Diane Tredger & Dennis McKinlay of Wellington were second.
Two Kairangi Pairs placed third and fourth. Joanne Gapes & Michel Norrish placed 3rd with Glenys Checchi & Tim Edwards coming in fourth. |

The Junior Tournament was played as a Howell movement.
The overall winners in the junior Tournament were Suzanne Keppel and Sue Fish from Kapi Mana with Val Buckland (Kairangi) and her partner Michael Appleby (Waiheke) coming second.

Kairangi Members did well in the Sessions.
Flora Edwards & Ian Doonan won the morning Session for the Junior Section whilst in the afternoon Session Joanne Gapes & Michael Norrish were first playing East/West and Glenys Checchi & Tim Edwards were first playing North South.

The catering was to the usual high standard produced at all the Kairangi events. Thanks to Carol, Mandy and their many helpers for such a fine effort.
