Burnie & Anitta Hollander joined in 1976 and were very active Members until they moved from Wellington in 1987.
Anitta took the beginner lessons during the 1980s and was President 1981-1982. Burnie was Treasurer 1979-1981 and President 1984-1985. |

Shirley Truman was a foundation Member and was also a Committee Member. She organised the Scoring Team in the 1970s and established and maintained the gardens.
She was recognised for her contribution to the NZ Bridge Community by being appointed as a life Member of NBCBA (Now called NZ Bridge). |

Betty & Len Martin were Foundation Members. Len chaired the inaugural meeting in 1971 to gauge support for a new Club. Betty taught the beginner lessons in 1975-1976 and they both regularly held improver lessons.
They presented two silver trays in 1972. |

Alex Schiff Pairs

Alex Schiff was a Foundation Member and a Member of the first Committee. He was President 1973-1974 and was instrumental in procuring the existing Club rooms. Alex still plays regularly on a Monday evening.

Alan and Claire Lawrence joined in 1973 and played regularly until 1977.

Founders Pairs

Pat Rose was the Club Founder. She hosted the inaugural meeting in her home, was on the initial steering Committee and then served for many years on the Club Committee. She was Ladies Vice President in 1978. Pat was made a Life Member in 1981.

Tug Willson was an original Member who was a Committee Member from 1974-1983 and President 1975-1976 when he was very involved in the purchase of the Club's premises. Tug was made a Life Member in 1984.
